Hamble River Rowing

 Bursledon Regatta History

The Swanwick, Bursledon and Warsash Regatta is one of those non-corporate village regattas which express the strength of the British sailing tradition.  It has been going for 140 years and attracts those interested in sailing from up and down the Hamble River.  Nowadays, it is based at the Elephant Boatyard in Bursledon next to the Jolly Sailor and takes place, according to tidal dictate, on the last weekend in August or the first weekend in September. It is organised by a Committee of local residents helped by ‘The Friends of the Regatta’
